Dear Neighbors:

Thank you for visiting my website. I would like to represent you on the LVJUSD Governing Board.

I have a lifelong commitment to education. During my service in the U.S. Navy, I dedicated myself to continuing my education at West Hills Junior College and Fresno State University in my off duty hours. Later I obtained a Masters Degree in Telecommunications at Devry University Keller Graduate School of Management. After my retirement from the Postal Service, I attended Chapman University and received my California Teaching Credentials in Industrial Technology Education. Since then I have worked as a Math Teacher, a Chess Teacher and a Math Tutor to students living in Livermore.

I believe my technical training and teaching experience can help develop programs for students who are at risk of failing math, as well as implement curriculum for the Livermore School District’s Technology Plan pursuant to the Education Code 51871.5 using computers, multimedia and technology such as digital white boards, and wireless networks. These technologies can then be used in classrooms to access lessons based on curriculum standards, and used by students to enhance their learning experience.

Serving on the LVJUSD Board will be challenging and difficult. Nothing worth doing is ever easy. I am at a point in my life where I have the time, patience, and skills to do the job honestly, effectively, and with the necessary dedication.

Please visit again as the campaign unfolds for a more complete view of my philosophy and endorsement list, or give me a call anytime.

Sincerely,
Mac Day

P.S. I am joined in this election by LVJUSD School Board candidates Anne E. White, Katherine (Kate) Runyon, and William H. (Bill) Dunlop. I look forward to a spirited discussion of the vital issues we will face on the Board over the next four years.
